Hi, it would be great if some of all international owners concerning Bjärton instruments could let us here in Sweden see all instruments in our forum gallery. So please show us your Bjärton guitar or mandolin

Hi Thanks for creating this site. I have had my Bjarton since the fall of 1970, but I only discovered it was called La Rita by browsing through your catalogues. I bought it - or should I now say her - while attending college in Québec, from a senior who had been given it as a gift when she was 13 or 14. She lived in Minnesota, I do not think Bjartons were ever sold in Eastern Canada. The serial number indicates it was manufactured in 1961, which is consistent with her story. I thought it was perhaps older, because it was extensively checked when I purchased it. Perhaps the story told elsewhere on this forum of bringing it in too quickly from the cold happened to mine as well. Anyway, I paid $90 for it, which was $15 more than I made a week in my well paying summer job in 1970. I have never regretted the extravagance. Robert <table

Hi rsweeny,
Great looking La Rita and thanks for sharing her with us. Good to see that your guitar is carefully used and in very good condition.

I agree with Caljon, the 50-60's Bjärton guitars are soo nice and such a great players. I have a copple of real oldies myself and they are my best guitars. Good luck with he guitar, im sure it will stay in shape for many years. It sure seems to be in a very good condition. And thanks for sharing it with us.
The Bjarton sold in Canada are branded Hagström, Tarrega or Espana. But I think the explaination for this "run way baby" is that the lady from Minnesota maby got it from Swedish relatives who brought it to her, or so. Minnesota do is the "swedish area".
Regards Robbi

Well this is a place of jump and glory Are we all awake or what 4 days of posting pics, no reply My apologies if this forum has fallen into sleep. I do understand the small following of our members but the important thing here is to keep the forum alive and the Bjarton name known to the world

Sorry to say, im a hard touring musician as well so it can take days before I check this forum. But for the rest of you?? Come on. Your guitar looks great and should sound awsome. I have one of these 12's myself and it has a sustain of its own. Do you happen to remember how much you paid for your guitar?

Well it's now egg on my face having been so long since I called in
I payed SKr 400-450 can't remember, from a wannabe girlfriend She wasn't into me but I was into this guitar
More photos and the guitars full history if anyone is into it
This guitar has traveled from Stockholm-Sydney Oz 78 Sydney-Stockholm 81 Stockholm_Sydney 89 This is when I lost her in the divorce as my ex grabbed it She then moved all around the eastern state of NSW to Western australia back to NSW and then down to Tasmania
She did look after it I must say and I wonder if any other BJARTON has had so many miles under its belt and still be as nice looking

That is a great story, I have never heard of such miles! If you want the family to grow, look out for Hagström, Espana or Tarrega acoustics down there. They are all made by Bjärton and are the very same guitars. The best place to find them is on e-bay.
Good luck! Robbi
