Does anyone know where I can get a Bjarton La Rita classical guitar? Or one of other Bjarton classical models? I stumbled onto one here in Oregon, and really like it. So does my son. It's very beat up, has damage to the rosette around the sound hole, and the top has some cracks and wear, but it sounds really good. It's made in 1964 I think. Would like to find another.

Andy in Eugene, Oregon Hi, the easiest way to find a real Bjärton in USA is to not look for a Bjärton. They where sold as Hagström, Tarrega and Espana over there but it is the very same guitar produced by Bjärton, Sweden. Search ebay after these brand and be sure that it says "Made in Sweden" on the label. Theses brands also used other companies to built their brand but Bjärton was the head producer in the early and the midst of the 60's. I have seen several, mostly Espana, in American ebay. As long at it says "Made in Sweden" these guitars are 100% Bjärton. You can find a Espana catalouge on this sites catalougpages. The model SL-2 is the very same as a Bjärton La Rita. Good luck and please let us know if you find one. Regards Robbi

HI, My Bjarton has Serial Number S9647. It carries LaRita's body, bruce top, mahogany body. The S9647 does not carry the model name or number. The tuners are drilled through the head stock. The S9647 is manufactured sometimes in 1959 - hard to say.
Let me know if you want to know something more.
Regards, jkerkkila
