I'm considering buying a Bjärton Rosita Classical guitar from an auction(not eBay). I've looked at the catalogs in Swedish and couldn't read the specs on this guitar. I want to find out if the back and sides are solid mahogany, or laminated. The English translations could go either way. Thanks, Adam

Hi,
You can see the model specs and photos in on the homepage under section "models". It's a nice guitar with a hard and nice playing neck. The sound is pure woody and has a lot of crispy edges and warm bottom. The top is solid spruce bought from the alps and Bjärton used something they called "spärrträ". The mateial is two layers of wood and has great sound, not to be compared to todays laminat. The "spärrträ" was under pressure longer and warmed up alot more than todays laminate.
I own two Rositas myself and it's is a really good quality guitar often for a good second hand price. In Sweden they often go for around 100-200 dollars, depending on condition.
From wich year is the Rosita from? Get it dated in the homepage. Good luck with th guitar and I hope you get satisfied with it. Let us know! The specs are anyway:
Specifications: Body: 490x370x98 mm Neck: Mahogny Top: solid alp-spruce Sides and bottom: Mahogny Fingerboard and bridge: Jakaranda
Cheers! Robbi

Hey, thanks for the information. I know about Alp Spruce because I have a Goya GG174 steel string dreadnaught from 1971 which uses it for the top. The sides are solid maple. I'll see if I can get the Rosita for around $200.00.
