Very happy and glad to see a forum dedicated to these fine guitars. By looking at the main web page, I have Identified my rosita as a 1977. My two other Bjartons, one is labeled Hagstrom it is a B-45 12 string, and just the most amazing 12 string I have ever heard. I will look up the year as soon as I can check the sn: My other one seems to be a top of the line nylon string Espana Model. It has the Bjarton style logo at a slant in the two circles, but it reads espana. There is no serial number that I can find. The label inside the body is the typical espana label with a small red made in sweden sticker attached to the bottom. The back and sides look to be walnut or rosewood, and the binding is five layers of darker wood. The fretboard looks to be ebony. Any ideas on the age of this?

Hi Jahhny,
Can you please send us some pics of your Espana? These guitars where made 1961-1966, something so your guitar should be an early 60's. Where did you get it? Maby I can identify the year by its label?

Maby I can identify the year by its label? There is no label in it, I'm not sure how to post pictures, but I will try and send some. I got it off ebay, it needed a new bridge, and some repairs. It looks a lot like the one in the catalog on your site. 1959 and 1955.

Hi again,
The model "Espana" is not the same as the label "Espana" wich was a line that Buegeleisen & Jacobson bought in from Hagström to sell in USA. Hagström bought the guitars from Bjärton who made a whole line of guitars for Hagström with the label Espana. Check the sektion "Catalouges" and the Espana 1965 and 1967. The brand Espana aslo had "top of the line" models and it seems to me that you have a bjärtonmade "Espana label guitar" and not the bjärtons own labeld model "Espana". I know its a bit confusing but please check the catalougepages and see if you find your guitar.

I'm at a disadvantage since I cannot read swedish, but the closest one in the catalogs is the one from the 1955 catalog. I do agree that it is a espana label guitar but the shape of the logo on the headstock I have only seen on bjarton's label guitars. It has two circles with Espana in script written at an angle. I have seen the identical headstock label with Bjarton written in script the exact same way. It makes me think this is older than mid sixties.

After looking closely at the Espana catalogs, it looks like mine is an SL-4 but again the headstock logo is different than any I've seen on an Espana labeled guitar. There are three stripes that run up through the neck and headstock vertically and they go through the two circles in the logo. The Script Espana is inlaid overtop of the two circles and the three stripes, very nicely done.

Jahnny,
I just got my own Espana model of Bjärton. You can see it at the section "models", scroll all the way down. Compare and see if is it the same model.
